Marathon Petroleum’s renewable-fuels page describes Martinez Renewables, in Martinez, California, as a joint venture with Neste. The page gives the plant about 730 million gallons a year of renewable diesel and other renewable fuels. It says production began in 2023 and that the plant reached full capacity by the end of 2024.

Neste’s production page says Neste owns 50 percent of Martinez and that the plant started in 2023. Neither page used here lists the feedstock slate for Martinez itself. Neste publishes a company-wide raw-material list for its renewable fuels. This profile does not paste that list onto Martinez.

Neste’s stated renewable-product capacity of about 5.5 million tons a year includes Martinez. Adding the 730 million gallons on top of the 5.5 million tons would count the same plant twice. The Neste figure is discussed on the Neste profile.
