Renewable Diesel Info is a morning periodical for people who make, trade, or regulate renewable diesel and biodiesel. It is owned by Robert Martin. The contact address is rm@zambmedia.com.
Each Morning Brief is an original summary. The sentence links the story it came from. The site does not copy articles. A policy figure or a plant capacity appears only with a link to the agency, the filing, or the company page it was taken from. If a feed fails, the price ticker says unavailable. It does not keep a made-up number on screen.
Where the prices come from
Crude oil, New York Harbor ultra-low sulfur diesel, and New York Harbor No. 2 heating oil are daily spot prices published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. WTI is the Cushing, Oklahoma, crude spot. Brent is the Europe Brent spot. They are not CME futures, and they are not a real-time exchange feed. EIA's series pages are U.S. government works. The ticker names EIA and shows the date of the observation.
If an EIA API key is later added as the environment variable EIA_API_KEY, the ticker tries the EIA Open Data API first and falls back to those same series pages. Without a key, it reads the series pages.
Soybean oil is the monthly average in the World Bank's Pink Sheet, the commodity-price workbook linked from the Bank's commodity-markets page. The unit is dollars per metric ton. It is not a daily cash quote and not a futures settlement. World Bank data are used under CC BY 4.0. The attribution is: World Bank, Commodity Markets, Pink Sheet monthly prices.
A quote older than the window the site allows, or a feed that does not answer, is shown as unavailable. The windows and the build commands are in the project README.
How a brief gets onto the home page
The home page features the latest file in the briefs collection. Adding the next morning's edition is a new Markdown file named with that day's date, then a rebuild. The archive keeps the earlier editions.
