Marathon Petroleum’s renewable-fuels page describes a renewable diesel facility at Dickinson, North Dakota, making renewable diesel and naphtha. Capacity is about 184 million gallons a year. The page says the facility was fully operational in 2021. It does not list the plant’s feedstock.
Related supply assets
The same page describes assets that feed renewable diesel production and are not, on that page, renewable diesel plants:
- A feedstock aggregation facility in Cincinnati.
- A pretreatment facility in Beatrice, Nebraska, of about 85 million gallons a year, which the page dates to early 2021.
- Green Bison Soy Processing, a joint venture with ADM at Spiritwood, North Dakota. The page says it can produce about 600 million pounds a year of refined soybean oil, aimed at about 75 million gallons of renewable diesel, and that it came online in fall 2023.
Those three figures are supply capacity. They are not additional Dickinson plant capacity.
