Diamond Green Diesel Holdings LLC reports the St. Charles plant in its financial statements for the years ended December 31, 2025 and 2024, filed as an exhibit by Darling Ingredients. The plant began operating in 2013 beside Valero’s St. Charles refinery in Norco, Louisiana. The same statements give it a capacity of about 700 million gallons a year of renewable diesel and about 30 million gallons a year of renewable naphtha. The company describes the plant as operating.
The venture is owned 50/50. Valero’s side is Diamond Alternative Energy, LLC. Darling’s side is Darling Green Energy LLC. Products named in the filing are renewable diesel, renewable naphtha, and sustainable aviation fuel as synthetic paraffinic kerosene.
The feedstock sentence in the filing is specific: “waste and renewable feedstocks, predominantly animal fats, used cooking oils, vegetable oils, and inedible distillers corn oils.”
The same financial statements say the company is eligible to claim the section 45Z clean fuel production credit through December 31, 2029, and that the $1-a-gallon blender’s tax credit expired on December 31, 2024. The legal description of 45Z is on the clean fuel production credit page. This profile does not repeat the company’s dollar benefit under the credit.
